Finally thought Aiden, a class were blending in was easy, keeping things like vampirism a secret wasn't always easy, what with people's incessant need to find anything and everything different about a person. Here though, everyone was the same, everyone had the same blank stare, the same drool on the desk, everything was easy, you could think, you could sleep, you could do whatever you wanted as long as you didn't try too hard to pay attention to the drawl of the lecture. The only thing that set Aiden apart here, was that he was the only one who actively looked forward to this class, not that anyone knew that. It wasn't that he enjoyed the lecture. certainly not, but he could be himself, regardless of the fact that being himself meant absolute boredom for almost 2 hours.
By the time Aiden came too the class was almost over. students were packing things up, one kid lay sound asleep on his desk, an ink bottle lay abandoned on a desk. Hurriedly, Aiden scrawled down the assignment on a spare piece of parchment, and rushed to pack his things. As the teacher dismissed class Aiden picked up his books and hurried for the door. O.K. so maybe I don't love this class as much as I thought. he muttered internally. As he moved for the door he remembered he'd forgotten his quill on his desk, oh well he thought, it was an old one anyways, might as well go buy a new one.
Walking toward the door he rubbed his eyes warily, waking up was always the hardest part of this class. He was still so stiff, you would think with the number of students who sleep through this class, they would make these chairs more comfortable. His foot fell asleep. Stretching and shaking his leg out he tripped, fell, and spilled his books every where. Scrambling to get up he heard a crunch as he rolled over. Crap! he thought to himself what was that? Looking down he sighed deeply, he was covered in ink. So much for being inconspicuous. Why couldn't he have forgotten that bottle instead of the quill, he wouldn't have this problem. Hopefully this wasn't the trend for the rest of the day, but then the way his luck seemed to go it probably would.
